Delbard
Georges Delbard started his nursery growing fruit trees and roses in 1935 in Malicorne, south of Paris. From small beginnings it became a huge horticultural enterprise with the breeding of new apples, pears, plums, cherries and Roses.
The early Delbard varieties were mostly sold in France.
With his sons entering the business it expanded with additions of 40 garden centres and modern Internet shopping. In their rose breeding program a group of striped roses was introduced and this resulted in some stunning novelties such as Red Intuition, Paul Gauguin, Claude Monet and Maurice Utrillo.
